About us
Interdisciplinary Reciprocity Research
We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing reciprocity theory and fostering interdisciplinary research across the social sciences. Bringing together perspectives from anthropology, economics, sociology, and related fields, we explore and promote alternative economic models and the governance of commons. Our work combines theoretical inquiry with practical initiatives to support more just and sustainable forms of cooperation.

Crear-asbl.be is a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing reciprocity theory and fostering interdisciplinary research across the social sciences. Bringing together perspectives from anthropology, economics, sociology and related fields, we explore alternative economic models, commons-based approaches and collaborative forms of organisation. Our work combines rigorous research, public engagement and practical experimentation to better understand how reciprocal relationships, shared resources and collective action can support more just, resilient and sustainable societies.
Interdisciplinary Reciprocity Research
Founded in 2012 by a small group of researchers and activists, crear-asbl.be emerged from a shared desire to rethink economic and social relationships through the lens of reciprocity theory. Bringing together backgrounds in anthropology, sociology, economics and other social sciences, the organization began as an informal network dedicated to interdisciplinary dialogue and critical reflection on dominant economic models. Over time, it developed into a structured non-profit, organizing research projects, public events and collaborative platforms focused on the commons and alternative economic approaches. Today, crear-asbl.be continues to build bridges between academic research, grassroots initiatives and policy discussions, fostering innovative perspectives on how societies can organize resources, cooperation and solidarity.
